Common build configurations

One 4-ohm speaker per channel

The most basic configuration for a 4-channel amplifier. A single speaker per channel will utilize the 4-Ohm rated power.

Two 4-ohm speakers per channel

When you want to get the most out of your amplifier. Dual 4-Ohm speakers wired in parallel allow the amplifier to output more power, utilizing the 2-Ohm rated power.

Dual 4-ohm speakers and pillars

Full amplifier power for your doors using a dual 4-Ohm speaker configuration. Plus use the other two channels to power your Mid and Tweeter pillar setup. NOTE: tweeters MUST be protected with an appropriate crossover and output power must be adjusted correctly to prevent speaker damage.

A 4-channel amplifier normally powers four speakers—one per channel. If it is stable at 2 ohms per channel, it can often power eight matching 4-ohm speakers by wiring two speakers in parallel on each channel. The available channel power is then shared by the two speakers.
