Installed into a 2000 Silverado, standard cab. These were a must for me. Original idea was to install better speakers using the door panels and spacer rings only. I would have had to carve-up the metal on the door. Very labor intense. Plus, the speakers are too deep, preventing the window from moving up and down. I did have to enlarge the existing holes to fit the new speakers. 6.5 sub, and 5.25 midrange. Sub is 3.5 in. deep, Mid is 2.75 in. I still used rings. If you got any skills and tools, you will adapt these into your door panels. Fit and finish are bad-a%# I used adhesive for extra holding, as the new speakers are very heavy. These are the best things on the market. Also, I added a 5.25 midrange to the B pillars using pods from a different source. Killer. Now go get you some!

I was a little skeptical about these but figured I’d give them a try…..and now I’m looking for a set for my other vehicle! Yes, they impressed me that much. These are STOUT! Well built, thick plastic, don’t flex but aren’t brittle. Yes, the holes may need to be reamed out to fit your speaker, but better that than having them be too big and you can’t use them. As for the fit into the door, one word: Perfect! Seriously. Looks like it was supposed to be there from the factory. When you remove the original mesh there are slits it went through to secure it to the door. You will wind up placing the new pod on the door, marking where the mounting posts meet those slits, and drilling holes for those mounting posts. That was the hardest part of it all and it still only took me maybe 10 minutes. If you’re looking for that perfect seal you might want to get some butyl rubber stripping you can knead into a long rope and put it in the groove, but it’s probably not needed.
Sorry, no pics….I’m a slacker. However, the clean look on the doors in the review above is exactly how mine look. Very professional and much better than the pods I made out of fiberglass years ago.
