CCA wire uses copper-clad aluminum conductors, while OFC wire uses oxygen-free copper. OFC offers better conductivity and can carry more current for its size. CCA is a more affordable option but may require a larger gauge to support the same amplifier demand.

Install the main fuse holder close to the vehicle battery, before the power wire travels through the vehicle. The exact maximum distance may depend on the installation and applicable rules, but keeping the unfused portion of the cable as short as practical provides better protection.
The power and ground wiring can be used regardless of the radio type, but the amplifier still needs a compatible audio signal. A factory radio may require a line output converter, digital signal processor or an amplifier with speaker-level inputs.
