Choose a fuse that protects the connected power wire without exceeding its safe current capacity. The amplifier manufacturer’s recommended fuse rating is a useful starting point, but the fuse must also be appropriate for the wire gauge, conductor material and installation length.
No. The main power wire still needs a properly sized fuse installed close to the battery. A fused distribution block provides additional protection for the smaller output wires and connected equipment after the main power run divides.
Check the Fuse Included specification on this page. Some holders and distribution blocks include fuses, while others require you to purchase the correct fuse separately for your wire and equipment.
Mount it securely on a stable surface away from moving parts, excessive heat and areas where water may collect. Keep the connections accessible for inspection and fuse replacement, and always reinstall the protective cover before restoring power.
Compare your power-wire gauge with the input and output wire sizes listed on this page. Wire should fit fully into the terminal without loose strands. Do not trim conductors to force an oversized cable into a smaller terminal.
