10-Inch Speakers for Serious Pod Builds

Add serious cone area, powerful midbass and commanding output to a large pod system. A 10-inch pro-audio speaker is built for customers who have the space, amplifier power and installation plan to support a larger driver.

Are 10-inch speakers the right size?
Choose 10-inch speakers when output and midbass authority matter more than keeping the pod compact. Confirm the cutout diameter, outer diameter, mounting depth and speaker weight, and make sure the mounting surface and amplifier are ready for the load. A 10-inch midrange is not a substitute for a subwoofer.

Match the amplifier to the build

Multiply the RMS power per speaker by the number of speakers on each channel, then choose an amplifier that delivers clean power at that load and matches your final impedance.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Choosing speakers for your pods does not need to be complicated. Start with the opening size, consider how you want the system to sound, and make sure the speakers and amplifier work well together.

No. “10-inch” is a nominal size, and large-format baskets, magnets and mounting patterns vary substantially. Compare the cutout diameter, outer diameter, mounting depth and weight with the pod before ordering.
Use the recommended RMS range shown on the speaker product page and confirm the amplifier’s output at the final wired impedance. Large-format speakers often require substantial clean power, secure wiring and a properly set high-pass filter.
Choose impedance based on the number of speakers, the wiring plan and the amplifier’s stable load. Calculate the final wired impedance before selecting the amplifier, particularly when powering several large drivers.
For protected interior speaker pods, a standard speaker is generally suitable. Choose a weather-resistant model for pods exposed to moisture, mud, salt or direct outdoor use, and follow the manufacturer’s installation guidance.
